Manitowoc County mirrors state numbers in the latest Wisconsin Realtors’ Association report released today (Monday).

Monthly home sales rose by 14.5% in April, compared to the same month a year ago when the Badger state was in a COVID-19 lockdown.

The median home price in Wisconsin increased by nearly 10% to $235,000.  Locally, sales of existing homes in Manitowoc County went up 28% from 75 a year ago in April to 96 last month.

Average days on the market fell by more than 21% from 84-days, down to 66.  The median price in the county rose by over 14% to $154, 500.

Also, for the first 4-months of 2021 home sales increased 8% and the median price saw a hike of 14% as opposed to the same time during 2020.  The WRA news release pointed out that 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rates remained low at 3.06% in April, which has kept Wisconsin housing affordable, even as median prices rose nearly 10% over the past year.
