Josh Breslow removes WKRN TV branding, quietly becomes real estate agent for Parks Realty – Scoop: Nashville

Josh Breslow quietly removed the ‘WKRN’ branding from his social media URLs in July, just days after he became a real estate agent for Parks Realty in Mt. Juliet. Neither he nor the station has commented on if he will remain as their morning alert desk anchor. WKRN posted a job opening similar to Josh’s current alert desk position earlier this week.

Josh Breslow’s contract began with WKRN in December of 2016, where he’s primarily been an alert desk anchor. In April of this year, Breslow took an unusual personal stance of not broadcasting names or mugshots of misdemeanor arrests on television as he reported on the news. When asked to clarify if this was WKRN’s new policy, Breslow wrote in a statement it was his own policy, which differed from the station:

“…It’s actually my policy — not necessarily a station policy. I don’t use booking photos/names as of a few months back if there’s a misdemeanor charge unless there is at least one felony charge. It’s technically on a case-by-case basis, but it’s not a station policy — it’s my own”.

In July of 2021, it was noticed on some social media platforms, Breslow had removed the ‘WKRN’ branding from his URL’s, for instance on Twitter ‘JoshBreslowWKRN’ became ‘JoshBreslowTN’. Josh Breslow was also granted his Tennessee real estate license in July of 2021, an agent for Parks Realty in Mt. Juliet. He took the course for new affiliates and TN real estate principles in late May and early June of this year. Breslow nor the station has commented on requests for comment on his new real estate license, or his removing the station’s branding from his social media URLs. They did, however, post a new job opening for a digital breaking news anchor (on-air and web) on their website earlier this week.

Prior to coming to WKRN in December of 2016, Breslow was at WDRB Louisville (Fox) from December 2015 – December 2016, at WLEX Lexington (NBC) from December 2010 – December 2015, and WTVW Evansville (Fox) from March 2009 – December 2010. He also worked as a reporter for the University of Florida News Bureau, AM850 WRUF, and WUFT (PBS) in his early days in Florida.
